Activities
• Read aloud, The Cowboy , students complete a small cowboy/cowgirl book using color and numeral word recognition.
• Read aloud, Armadillo Rodeo, students will create their own Lone Star collage.
• Read aloud, Cowgirl Rosie, students write "wild west" ideas, and create their own cowboy/cowgirl.
• Read aloud, Gracie the Blue Lacy, students learn state symbols and use them to create their own small Texas book.
• Plus much more......
• Journal Monday, Tuesday and Thursday only!
• Eat smores and Chile, the state dish of Texas, around our "campfire."
• Math
       o Math activities involving measurement.

Information
• Kids should wear their cowboy/cowgirl wear on Friday. We will walk out to see the trail riders come in Friday morning. All kids need a lunch from home for Friday Feb. 22nd since the trail riders always come by at the beginning of our lunch time.
• Please fill out the permission slip to walk to Stella Link in this Tuesday’s red folder.
• Please see the sign-up sheet outside our door to help with the needed items for this week.

• Leer en voz alta, El vaquero, los estudiantes completaran un libro de un vaquero/vaquera usando las palabras de color y números.
• Leer en voz alta, Armadillo Rodeo, los estudiantes harán su propio colaje de la Estrella Sola.
• Leer en voz alta, Rose la vaquera, los estudiantes escribirán sus ideas del “oeste salvaje” y harán su propio vaquero/vaquera.
• Leer en voz alta, Gracie the Blue Lacy , los estudiantes aprenderán los símbolos del estado y los usarán para hacer su propio libro de Texas.
• Y mucho más….
• LDC toda la semana!
• Comer smores y Chile, la comida del estado de Texas, alrededor de nuestro “fuego de campamento”.
• Matemáticas
      o Actividades de matemáticas con medir.

Información
• Los estudiantes se deben poner su ropa de vaquero/vaquera este viernes, si quieren. Caminaremos a la calle Stella Link para ver los vaqueros en caballo que pasan el viernes. Cada estudiante necesita traer su lonche este viernes, 22 de febrero porque el desfile de vaqueros siempre viene durante nuestro almuerzo.
• Por favor llene el permiso en la carpeta roja este martes para que su hijo/a pueda caminar a Stella Link.
• Por favor apúntese en la hoja afuera del salón para las cosas que necesitamos.

The Three Pigs

The Three Little Pigs

February 4 - 8

Activities
• We will read; The Three Little Pigs, Big Bad Wolf, The True story of the Three Little Pigs, The Three Little Javelina's, The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig, The Three Tamalas and many others.
• The students will create their own storyboard to use in the re-telling of the story.
• We will dramatize the classic version.
• The students will create their own storybook.
• LDC all week.
• Math Activities involving counting to 100.

Information • Thank you to all that brought items for our 100th day celebration, Tuesday, Feb. 5th.
• All Kindergarten teachers have PYP planning Wednesday morning from 8-10.
• Chinese New Year, Monday February 11th.
• Valentine’s Day, Thursday February 14th. Please see the note in the red folder.
• BASH, Mark Twain’s auction night will be Friday, February 15th. Hope to see you there.
• Early dismissal, Wednesday February 20th.
• Go Texan Day, Friday the 22nd. All students can plan on wearing the cowboy attire.
• Field trip to see the play “Ms. Nelson Is Missing”. I only have 2 spots for chaperones and I am sorry but the place is sold out of tickets so I can’t take anyone else. I have already told a parent they could go so please see me if that was you. I sent home the permission slip last week but I still don’t have all of them or the money. If you haven’t turned yours in then you will have one in the red folder. I must have the money and permission slip by Wednesday.

• Leeremos; Los tres cochinitos, El lobo grandote feroz y malo, La verdadera historia de los tres cochinitos, Las tres pequeñas jabalinas, Los tres lobitos y el gran cochino malo, Las tres tamales y muchos otros.
• Los alumnos crearán su propio escenario de la historia para usarlo cuando la cuenten ellos.
• Representaremos la versión clásica.
• Los alumnos harán su propio libro de cuentos.
• LDC toda la semana.
• Actividades de matemáticas sobre formas, clases y sumas.

Información
• Gracias a todos que trajeron las cosas para el 100º día de la escuela, martes 5 de febrero.
• Todas las maestras de Kindergarten estarán afuera de la clase desde las 8-10 para PYP.
• El año nuevo de los Chinos, lunes 11 de febrero.
• Día de San Valentín, jueves 14 de febrero. Por favor miren la nota en la carpeta roja.
• BASH, la subasta de Mark Twain será el viernes 15 de febrero. Ojala los puedo ver allí.
• Salida temprano el miercoles, 20 de febrero.
• El Día de los Texanos, los estudiantes pueden venir vestidos en su traje de vaqueros.
• Excursión para ver la obra de “Ms. Nelson Is Missing” será el jueves, 28 de febrero. Solamente tengo 2 espacios para los padres y el lugar ya está lleno y no pueden vender más boletos. Ya le dije a uno de ustedes que podía ir, si fue usted por favor venga verme. Mande el permiso la semana pasada pero todavía no tengo todos los permisos y el dinero. Si no me ha entregado el dinero y el permiso habrá otro en la carpeta roja. Necesito el dinero y el permiso para este miércoles.
