Gingerbread Man

We will continue our planner “Tell Me a Story” with a study of the Gingerbread Man”.

Activities

• Read the different versions of The Gingerbread Man
• Compare and contrast these versions using a ven diagram
• Story board map
• 5 senses book about the Gingerbread Man
• Decorate and eat a gingerbread man during Art-a-la-Carte
• Math-numbers addition and subtraction

Information

• We will have a performance by Main Street Theater, Stuart Little, this Thursday at 8:30. The performance will be here at Mark Twain for all Kindergarten and 1st grade students. Please send $2.50 to cover the cost of the performance by Thursday morning.
• I want to thank Rebecca Kelly for coming in and teaching the September and October Art-a-la-Carte lessons. I also want to thank Blythe Grossman and Rachel Jacobs for teaching the November one. Tarsy Dondlinger will teach our December one this Friday. I greatly appreciate the lessons these parents have done.
• I will be in Baltimore attending a PYP conference with 5 other teachers the 10th and 11th. Ms. Debbie Medrano, Ms. Filis’ sister will be my substitute both days.
  We will have our holidays around the world celebration on the 15th & 16th. We will start at 8:15 and end at 10:30 both days. I will need several volunteers both days. If you can help see Alva. We will rotate through all 6 Kindergarten classes to learn about the following holiday; Chinese New Year-Maupin, Christmas-Eddleman, Kwanzaa-Prater, Ramadan-Mouftah, Hanukah- Fromén, Las Posadas-Martinez.
• We will have our Holiday Party (Snowman party) Thursday, December 17th at 1:00. You are welcome to come and join in the festivities. If you would like to help see Alva Allen.
• Friday, December 18th will be movie day and the last day of classes for our students. There will be no extended day, all students must be picked up by 2:50.

Continuaremos con la unidad de “Dime un cuento” con el estudio del Hombrecito de pan jengibre pero solamente esta semana.

Información

• Tenemos una obra de Stuart Little que vendrá este jueves 3 de diciembre a Mark Twain del teatro Main Street. Esta obra es para los estudiantes de Kindergarten y primer grado. Por favor mande $2.50 para cubrir el costo de esta obra.
• Le quiero dar las gracias a Rebecca Kelly por venir y enseñar Arte-a-la-Carte de septiembre y octubre. Tambien le quiero dar las gracias a Blythe Grossman y Rachel Jacobs por enseñar el de noviembre. Tendremos la lección de diciembre este viernes por Tarsy Dondlinger.
• Estaré en Baltimore el 10 y 11 de diciembre con otras maestras en una conferencia de PYP. La substituta para los dos días será Debbie Medrano, la hermana de la Sra. Filis.
• Tendremos las Celebraciones alrededor del mundo el 15 y 16 de diciembre. Iremos a todas las clases de Kindergarten para ver como celebran alrededor del mundo. La clase de la Sra. Maupin tendrá el Nuevo año Chino, Sra. Eddleman-La Navidad tradicional, Sra. Prater–Kwanzaa, Srta. Mouftah–Ramadan, Srta. Fromén – Hannakuh, y nuestra clase – Las Posadas. Empezaremos a las 8:15-10:30 cada día. Necesitaré varios voluntarios los dos días, si puede ayudar por favor hable con Alva Allen.
• 17 de diciembre, jueves-la fiesta de las celebraciones para nuestra clase. Empezaremos a la 1:00. Necesitaremos varias cosas y mucha ayuda para nuestra fiesta del “Hombrecito de nieve”. Si puede ayudar por favor hable con Alva Allen. Ustedes están invitados a venir a este evento.
• 18 de diciembre, viernes-será el día de las películas en nuestra clase. No habrá día extendido y todos los estudiantes se necesitan levantar para las 2:50. Los estudiantes empezarán las vacaciones.
