Where in the World

January 8-11

Activities • Read aloud, Whoever You Are, students begin the study of their heritage.
• The next project will be a research project done during the school day. Each student will research their own personal history. They will present posters they create to the class.
• Journal this week.
• Parents are invited to come and share a little bit of their culture with the class. In the past parents have brought in artifacts, pictures, and books to help the children learn more about various cultures. If you are interested please email me and we can work out a time for you to visit with us.
• Math
   o Fractions, ordinal numbers and new math games!

Information
• Happy New Year to you all! The first half of our Kindergarten year is over! Thank you all for the wonderful, generous gifts. Thank you notes are in the red folders.
• Our room will be very busy this week. I have changed some of the learning centers. We will spend the week reviewing old centers and learning the new centers.
• I have changed some of the workstations so we will learn the new assignments.
• By the end of January, we will begin Math workstations which are similar to the literacy workstations except the focus is on math.
• I will be reassessing reading levels this week look for them with the report cards.
• Tejas Lee testing begins next week.
• No school Monday, January 21st.
• Art night Tuesday, January 29th.
• Early dismissal Wednesday, January 30th.

Actividades

• Leer, Quienquiera que seas, los estudiantes empiezan el estudio de su herencia.
• El siguiente proyecto será una investigación hecho en la clase. Cada estudiante investigará su herencia personal. Presentarán los carteles que crearán a la clase.
• Diario toda la semana.
• Los padres están invitados para compartir con la clase un poco de su cultura. En los años pasados los padres han traído artefactos, fotos y libros para ayudarles a los estudiantes aprender más de los varios culturas. Si está interesado por favor envíeme y podemos escoger un horario para que nos visite.
• Matemáticas
   o Fracciones, números ordinales y algunos juegos nuevos.

Información

• ¡Feliz año nuevo a todos! ¡La primera mitad de Kindergarten ya se terminó! Muchas gracias a todos por los regalos maravillosos que me dieron. Las notas de gracias están en las carpetas rojas.
• Nuestro salón estará muy ocupada esta semana. He cambiado algunos centros de aprendizaje. Tomaremos esta semana revisando los centros viejos y aprendiendo los centros nuevos.
• Cambie algunos de las estaciones de alfabetización, aprenderemos estos también.
• Para los fines de enero empezaremos las estaciones de matemáticas que son casi como las de alfabetización pero el enfoque será en matemáticas.
• Estaré reexaminado los niveles de lectura esta semana, búsquelos con las calificaciones.
• El Tejas Lee empezará la próxima semana.
• No habrá escuela el lunes, 21 de enero.
• Noche de arte, jueves, 29 de enero.
• Salida temprano, miércoles, 30 de enero.
